Originally from Wilkes County, NC Dr. Everhart has a great love for App State! Her parents are both alumni, and she has many fond childhood memories of attending football games. Her mother graduated in 1982 with a degree in Reading Education K-12 and recently retired from teaching middle school.
Dr. Everhart truly loves advising and helping students navigate their educational path. Before coming to App State she worked in the North Carolina Community College system for 10 years specializing in recruitment and advising for special populations. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies-Public Relations from UNC Charlotte in 2007, and later went on to get her Master’s of Education in College Student Personnel (2012) and Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership (2020) from Western Carolina.
In her free time Dr. Everhart loves kayaking, hiking, and hanging out with her dog Ranger. She’s also a big fan of Bluegrass festivals, and enjoys photography.
