Appalachian Community of Education Scholars (ACES)

Empowering Future Educators at Appalachian State University

The Appalachian Community of Education Scholars (ACES) program at Appalachian State University is dedicated to developing a strong, supportive community of future educators. Our mission is to prepare forward-thinking teacher leaders through immersive experiences centered on mentorship, leadership, service, and professional development.

We provide real-world teaching opportunities that equip ACES students with the confidence, skills, and passion to become innovative advocates for public education.

Why I Chose to be in ACES

“ACES means support and growth. Throughout my ACES journey, I’ve been surrounded by amazing, like-minded individuals who encourage and inspire me. The program has also helped me feel more prepared for the classroom by offering real insight into the teaching profession.”
